OLD SKOOL NOSERIDER

Some more pictures of logs from slide 65, my board is the top left.

Not the best place to take a picture, in my cramped hallway.

And to be honest the camera shots don't do the board justice.

The board really is top quality.

Now i just need a some small clean swell to christen it, or a plane ticket to malibu.

1HOUR 12 MILE RIDE

With the sun splitting the sky i decided to get out my rock lobster xc bike and head east along to torness power station, which is my daily commute to work route.

The early summer bloom.

Cycle network route which takes you east and west and gives you easy access to the john muir way.

Industrail coast, torness power station.

Xc rocklobster mtb bike.

SLIDE 65 SURFBOARDS

With summer on the way i have been looking at new longboards and while searching the internet came across slide 65, which are a newish company, after looking at there boards and chatting about them to a few surfers on the internet i decided on an old skool log with the dimensions around 9'6x23x3 50/50 rails quite a bit of tail kick and a deep concave in the nose for the small clean summer waves.

The owner and founder of slide 65 is rob wright a former cabinet maker, the boards are stunning and mine arrived on the 28 of march(yesterday) as of yet i haven't had time to get some pictures of it on the blog, but the forecast for the next few days is promising with surf in the 2-3 ft range, with the board came a true ames 9.75 fin and a free t-shirt stickers and a load of slide 65 postcards like the one above, so if your in the market for a new log check them out.

FOGGY MORNING ON THE COAST

Sunday morning was still and very pleasant here in dunbar with virtually no wind and a low tide i decided a beach ride on my fat bike the surly pugsley was in order, as i cycled the mile or so along the tarmac past winter field golf course i could smell the faint wiff of sea air and the dampness as the coast was covered in a harr that concealed most of spikey island and belhaven beach, as i cycled through the beil burn and along the sand the the sun began to slowly burn through and by the time i made it out to the tyne estuary you could just about make out wild fire reef in the picture above.

fatties fit fine.
and a picture of my vibram five fingers that i use for beach riding, walking or surfing.

by now the sun had burnt the haze away to nothing, so i continued my beach cycling along the soft sand and enjoyed the rest of the  early summer sunshine.

ALONG THE SHORE.

When the tide comes in this old iron bridge is completely cut off from the land making it impossible to cross, with dry feet anyway, hence the name the bridge to nowhere.

Further along belhaven beach just passed spikee island is the river tyne estuary, with the recent high tides a lot of drift wood from the river banks has been washed onto the beach.

My sandy and wet five ten cycling shoes.
